Privacy Policy
Effective July 13, 2026
Dream Club is a dream journal. Dreams are about as personal as writing gets, so this policy is written to be read — plainly, and it describes what the app actually does.
The short version: your dreams live on your device and in your own iCloud. Nothing you write reaches our servers unless you request an AI analysis (the dream's text is processed, not stored) or deliberately share a dream with a circle. We don't run ads, we don't use analytics trackers, and we never sell data.
Your private journal
Dreams you record are stored on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, in your personal iCloud storage so they sync across your devices and survive reinstalls. That iCloud container belongs to your Apple account — we have no ability to read it. Voice recordings never leave your device. Voice transcription uses Apple's speech recognition, which may process audio according to your device's Apple settings.
AI dream analysis
When you request an analysis, the dream's text and date are sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards them to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the interpretation. The result is returned to your device and saved in your private journal.
- We do not store your dream's text on our servers during analysis — it passes through and comes back.
- Anthropic does not use API content to train its models by default, per its commercial terms.
- Analysis is on-demand only. Nothing is analyzed unless you ask.
Accounts
You can use the journal and analysis without any account. To share dreams with a circle, you sign in with Apple. We store the account identifier Apple gives us and a display name — we do not request or store your email address. Behind the scenes, the app may also create an anonymous account identifier used solely to authenticate analysis requests; it contains no personal information.
Shared dreams and circles
Sharing is always explicit and per-dream. When you share a dream with a circle, its title, text, imagery line, symbols, and dream date are stored on our servers and become visible to that circle's members — people you invited or who invited you. Nobody else can see them, including members of your other circles. You can stop sharing any dream at any time, which removes it from our servers. We also store your circles' names and membership lists.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a device token (a random identifier issued by Apple) so we can send you alerts — for example, when someone in your circle shares a dream. The token is deleted when you sign out or delete your account.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs.
- No selling, renting, or trading of any data, ever.
- No reading of your private journal — structurally, we can't.
Service providers
Dream Club runs on a small set of infrastructure providers, each processing only what's needed to operate the app: Apple (sign-in, iCloud, push notifications), Supabase (our database and server functions), Anthropic (AI analysis), and Vercel (this website).
Deleting your data
- A single shared dream: stop sharing it in the app, and it's removed from our servers.
- Your whole account: Settings → Delete Account permanently removes your account, shared dreams, circle memberships, circles you created, and device tokens from our servers. Your private journal stays on your device and in your iCloud.
- Your private journal: it's yours — delete entries in the app, or remove the app's iCloud data in your device's iCloud settings.
Children
Dream Club is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll note it here with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after a change means the updated policy applies.
